Default Tanabe Medallion Exhaust - Tip Replacement???

All: I am about to order a Medallion exhaust kit, however, I am not thrilled with the included tips... I would like a larger, more oblong shaped tip that will better fill out the factory OEM cutout in the bumper... it would be even better if it were matte black (I have a smokey granite mica) and it would match the black pearl emblems on the car....

Anyone have any recommendations on both how to do this and where to get replacement tips???

I didn't see an HKS exhaust for the ThirdGen? Do you have a link?

I think tanabe is a perfect size for a 3GS. Sporty yet still retaining some class....

I don't have an aftermarket exhaust on ours, but I read somewhere on this forum that the HKS drones at cruising speeds. Can someone confirm/verify this? Too bad we don't have a library of exhaust sound clips for the 3GS.

hearing the exhaust i am not surprised if hks has a bit droning. it's quite a bit louder than tanabe imho, and with the tanabe i can already "feel" a bit of the droning

HKS does indeed drone a little, tanabe is the quietest one.

That's what I figured with the HKS. I know my wife would be definitely po'd if I installed this since she can't stand the Injen dual on my Z. I guess I'll save up for the Fabulous exhaust and be the guinea pig. I've searched and searched for sound clips of this exhaust and have yet to find one. Unless someone already has this setup...

I've seen that clip before... it does sound almost stock. I wonder what the f-sport will sound like...

You can replace the tips on the Tanabe. Moderator JavyLSU did it on his 2IS. So it just depends on what you want and finding it. Any exhaust shop can do it for you.

My wife would kill me too... I cannot have drone, so no HKS
