When are they going to redesign the GS.....
I think this model is getting kinda dated, didn't it come out in 04? They need something a little more modern looking with better lines. I hope next year is the year they redesign it because that is when I am going to get a new car.

The 3GS debuted in Feb 2005 as a 2006 MY car.
Typical Lexus body cycles are 6 yrs, with a midcycle refresh after 3 yrs.
3GS got a refresh in MY08, so I'd guess a redesign is due in MY2011 . . .

Right now Lexus is focusing on the 2010 RX, as that is their #1 selling vehicle. That launch HAS to go perfect. And I, as a salesperson, amd very much looking forward to having that on the ground.
Next is the IS 250C, and while not as important as the RX, it still is going to be a cornerstone car.
After that comes the new hybrid.
If I had to hazard a guess, after that you will see a new GX. Almost all the other cars have been done, and that will be the only SUV in need of a redesign (desperately so).
After that, expect something with the SC, and then probably the IS / GS.

lol...are you coming to the dark side? I can tell you the rattles that where in the IS....I dont get them in the GS and seems likes its much more sold then the IS. Not to say that it cant or wont but considering its used I had more rattles in the IS then this and my GS is older then the IS. I did start to hear the rear sub now that I have played the stereo louder then the previous owner
Its not bad...

Yeah, the Lexus LF-S was the basis for the 3GS. The first raw concept 3GS came out in 2004. It was this particular one. The 3GS was first sold in February 2005 as a 2006 model.
Here's the first hand built 3GS concept. Note the raw looking interior pieces.

I can respect someone saying it is time a car gets updated, but personally, I don't think that that car is the 3GS. I like the lines, obviously, or else I would not have bought one 8 months back. Redesign in 2011 is the buzz, but in the mean time, let's enjoy the beauty of a true trend setter.

not dated at all. unlike the infiniti M35, which looked dated the 1st day it came out
new cars are borrowing design cues from the GS all the time.
and slap on a new bumper, body kit, or integrated trunk spoiler, and the car still looks fresh.

From Autoblog, it looks like a redesigned GS isn't going to happen for some time:
"Lexus sales have been down every month so far this year, which may be due in part to its SUV and crossover-heavy lineup. It also seems that Toyota's luxury division doesn't quite have redesigns of its sedans ready yet. According to Automotive News, the automaker's smallest car, the IS, won't be redesigned for another few years. While the SC coupe/convertible is set to go the way of the Dodo, expect to see a coupe and convertible iteration of the IS sometime soon. Some sales help is also likely forthcoming from the Lexi-fied version of Toyota's next-gen Prius."
