You CAN make 5.1/7.1 hybrid disks with Gen 5 nav
You CANNOT make 5.1/7.1 hybrid disks with Gen 4 nav

I have a 2008 GX 470 with Gen 5 nav. No one in the GX 470 forum responded to my question as to whether anyone has tried using a hybrid 5/7 disc in the GX.

does anyone know if it would work?

memasterac has a 07 GS. I tried making a hybrid disc on my 08GS. I spent and wasted total of 12 disk trying to do this process. IT DONT WORK!! I think it has to do with the hardware that comes in the newer 08 and up GS.

Members, a gentle reminder that Club Lexus does not allow discussions about software piracy, including making or distributing copies of Lexus Navigation disks.

How to and detailed discussion about creating hybrid disks using Nav software you personally own is all good, just please don't get this thread closed with bittorrent and software swapping discussion.

Thank you

Default Updated with 8.1 Gen 2/3 today. Override drive works!

Guys, sorry I have not posted before, I have been a silent observer for a long time now. I have an 02 LX470 that had Nav version 3.1 installed. I ordered 8.1 from Sewell Lex about 2 days ago and just got the 8.1 disk from FedEx today. I installed it and guess what!!! THE BYPASS HAS BEEN LEFT IN PLACE. Everyone has been complaining about the lockout feature being taken out of prior versions. I guess www.lexusisnotmymom.com got somewhere because I can still bypass drive through the secret menu and enter new destinations while driving. No hack.. Just popped in the new disk and drove OFF!!

^^ what exactly did you do to bring up that menu

just tested both LS diagnostic steps and older gen Nav override screen, doesn't work on the Gen 5 nav

correct. with the older hardware the secret menu is still there on the newer dvds. I believe because the techs still need it. 1 advantage of staying old school.

I like your thought process, "the techs still need", how do they do it with GEN 4 & 5?

There must be a "back door" for Gen 4 & 5
