Default help me buy a GS350

I am currently in an 06 IS250 AWD (no nav). Like the car, but its missing some key stuff, namely 100 extra HP, bluetooth and a bit more backseat. But its time and I am obsessed with getting something new. I have cross-shopped, Mini, BMW 3/5, Audi A3/4/6, Infiniti EX, IS350, etc.

An 07 GS350 AWD caught my eye (basically new) Its a very good deal. Nav, no ML. I like the look of the IS better, but a bit more legroom would be good for occasional clients is good. Nav would be nice.

So, my question is...do you think the GS driving experience is rewarding? is it fun to drive? Obviously the luxury is there...but is the sport?

Help me to decide. If I don't do it I will probably wait to see the new A4.

I just came out of a IS 250AWD.
Being honest,I love the GS's looks, ride, quickness and it's pretty quiet. Not big on room but a limo compared to an IS.
The GS works for me because I'm more into a smooth quiet ride over handling.
It's really not sporty as it really doesn't handle but neither does a IS really,IMO.Both would handle with aftermarket upgrades.
I'd wait for the new design A4 but I don't know how 'sporty' that car will be either but with it's bigger size,it's a car I'd really interested in.
The problem will be '09 A4's won't be discounted much if at all.A GS is discounted big now and will be on '09s.

the IS350 will be more fun to drive than the GS350, but I'll take the extra space and luxury in the GS any day.

So, is the GS at all fun to drive?

I am leary of Audi. After 2 Lexus' I have forgotten what its like to have car trouble and to get treated like crAp everytime I go to the dealer. The Audi will be a rip here in Canada too.

I actually test drove the new A4 2.0T and the v6 models. The v6 model def is a little smoother IMO, and has a little more power on reserve than the 2.0 liter. Priced with a few options the 6 cylinder model came out to 51k and some change. A little to pricey for me considering its an A4. If youre looking for that fun factor, maybe a 3 series or 5 series would suit you better but the GS is pretty darn smooth compared to them. Good luck with your car search/upgrade.

I noticed the Infiniti M series was not on your list of contendors. That might be a good compromise for you.

I would start away from a 1st year Audi. If you find the IS250 sporty, then the GS will be close but a tad less nimble. Both are not BMW and not even Audi. Go test drive one and then decide for yourself.

This is always subjective. I find it not as nimble as the IS, but for a daily driver, absolutely would say it is fun.

Well if you lower the bar that much then I would say yes.
But it's more a "pleasure" to drive then it is fun.

This is totally the info I was looking for.

Its not like I take my car through the twisties everyday. Its more of a death march on clogged freeways.

I hope I don't regret it.

As I am 35 I may be premature going for the GS, but from what I gather here owners are a lot younger than I had thought.
