I spoke with Lexus of Watertown's service manager(Brandy). She said there is a NEW TSIB for the brakes but the parts are on back order. She also told me the squeal shim kit wont do much good. She also said new rotors/new pads will be part of the TSIB.

Looking foward to this.

Not that you mention it, I did remember someone else having this shim kit done before. Sounds like its not the new TSB but you did get the new parts and the shim kit and they did clean it for you. That may have done the trick.

So then the quesiton is why did they make me wait so long? Would have made more sense to just do it back then. Oh well

So happy its fixed. I was getting so used to the sound that i find it hard to drive normally now. Like im always anticipating the sound so I brake differently.

bozer, just be happy you are dealing with Lexus, most other auto manufacturer will not go thru that extend to make you happy. They wanted you to want for the TSB, but when you got upset over the phone, they probably call your dealer and told them to do what ever it takes to make you happy, Lexus is crazy like that

Look at it this way, if the squeak comes back, you can still ask for the new TSB.

So i called my dealer and ask him about it and he told me that there is no tsib out for the breaks it is a special order parts for people on the list .And he also told me that the break problem happens to the 350's and not the 430's .What model do you guys have 350 or 430?

That seems odd. I thought that the 350 (at least 07) and 430 had the same brakes. 06 300 had different brakes.

I have the 350. Man I am so happy this has been fixed.

All I can tell you guys is nice guy approach doesn't get you anywhere. When you talk to Lexus corporate let it be known that you hate how your car sounds and you think its a piece of garbage. That did the trick for me after months of being mr. nice guy

Yeah, that "someone" was me Just a temporary fix. Before, the squeaking was most of the time, now just once briefly (and not always) when start driving. Definitely takes out the annoyance factor while I'm waiting for TSIB

SOO....My GS's brakes are driving me crazy...for awhile this was an active thread, but then hit a wall!!! Since everyone is quiet now, does that mean the TSB is out??? If so can someone post it, so that i can take it to the dealer....

I wish a TSB was out, but there is no official TSb for squeaking brakes. I am just as annoyed as you and the only thing to do is call Lexus Coporate and complain. They told me that they would get back to me within the week, so I am crossing my fingers on that one.

I just dont see what the problem with Lexus on this one is, if you ask me, Lexus really drop the ball on this one, just like the rattles. Car manufacturers have been making performance brakes that dont squeak for years, its not like lexus is re-inventing anything here.
