someone.. please please teach him where the search button is
was that to me? lol. sorry i dont own a newer car, and do all this crazy research about everything that i dont own.
6k and 8k temperature bulbs may look nicer, but light output is lost. i know that a standard d2r bulb 85126, but are offered as 85126+. they may do something for the d4s bulbs as well.

lol, definitely not to you, if you see the trend of some of OP's post, you'll see he is posting about some of the most asked questions. I don't mind helping them once a while, but when i have to post the same thing over and over again, it gets really frustrating that I even bother searching for my old post and copy and paste the exact same thing when they could've found it themselves.
D4S is the same, offered in 6000k and higher, brighter, mercury free and less voltage needed.
sucks that Philips stopped making the 5800k XenEco bulbs for D4S
You get get bluer, but it wont be brighter, in fact it will be dimmer. The only way to go bluer and brighter is to upgrade to higher wattage HID.
yup but not recommended unless you also upgrade the harness to handle the higher power, plus it'll run much hotter, not too good for stock housing too.
Personally, i think the best compromise for going to 6000k+ is to have HID fogs to get some of that lost "lumen" back.

The higher the Kelvin (K) rating doesn't mean it's better, OEM is 4,200-4,300K. That gives the best light output. Anything higher degrades the brightness and visibility of the beam pattern especially in inclement weather. Changing out the wiring harnesses has nothing to do with light output or imprmoved brightness. The bluer/purple the light is, the less effective it is in lighting up the road in front of you.
