New Car!
No, I don't have a new car but it feels like it.
Here's the story.
A few months ago I bought a Bazooka base tube and I have been really disappointed in it's output. It didn't sound much better than the factory stuff...except on some cd's that were recorded bass-heavy.
This weekend, I finally did it right. I got a 12 inch Sony X-plod sub and a MTX 300 watt amp.
Man, it feels like a new car. The bass is really clean but full and long. I decribed what I wanted in my bass sounds and the guys recommended what I needed to get there. For example, I was gonna get a ported box but was told it can distorts under heavy use. I'm really happy.
What pisses me off is the set-up was only $100 more than the Bazooka (would have been more without my discounts). I should have done it right the first time instead of trying to play it cheap. I'm not into the fancy installs with a trunk full of stuff. It looks cool and is good for showing off but there goes your trunk. Now I still have some trunk space and it looks clean.
I was contemplating a body kit but instead got the music straight. Next will be tint. I'm still not sold on the kit thing but I'll probably do it anyway. It's a big part of modding a car. But later. I'm digging the sounds and enjoying spending more time in the car!

Yes I do. I listen to a lot of funk jazz, acid jazz and some hiphop jazz....also reggae, gospel and reggae jazz. Lot's of bass is required for my music.
I still can't believe I waited so long to do this. It should have been my first mod.

You all want pics? It's just a simple bass in a box. Nothing like the elaborate setups some of you guys have. I'll do a pic just for you guys but there isn't much to see. It sounds sweet though. The installers even put a dedicated bass control **** in the glove box. I didn't expect that.

You know how we do it, new mods get new pics. Stay tuned.
