I've had 2 BMW 3 coupes ('95 and'99), and loved them. I'd still have the '99 except for the fact this bimbo with a history of seizures blacked out coming off a freeway and totaled my pride and joy. I wanted a new ('07) 3 coupe, but discovered they only come with run-flats, which I will not consider.
My GS350 is a wonderful car, but I sure miss my BMW, and would have another coupe in a heartbest if it came with a spare.

Didn't your GS350 come with Run-Flats? - Mine did - no big deal, just replaced them with conventional tires. A pretty small inexpensive modification for getting the car you really want.

Default gs vs. bmw

The GS comes with both, so there's room for a doughnut spare in the trunk. Not so with the BMW, so if you switch to conventionals you either have no spare (not acceptable), or a spare you buy will take up the trunk (also not acceptable). BTW the salesperson who sold me both BMW's candidly advised quite a few potential sales have been lost because of this issue.

There are many other reasons that I would not get a BMW - this would not stop me. If BMW was as reliable as Lexus. I'd buy a spare and just park it in the trunk. - Mine is empty most of the time. No big deal.

If I wanted a performance coupe, I dont think I would let something like a tire stop me from getting it. Especially if I am going to spend $50K, I would make sure I get exactly what I wanted.

I couldn't agree with you more - and because BMW doesn't build their coupe exactly as I want it, I didn't get one!

Just like your BMW SUV!!, Lexus SUVs also come with FULL SIZE SPARES.. It would be a little tough to drive off road without one.

Actually, I didn't enjoy my BWM's because of where their clocks were. I was more concerned with their handling and 'fun to drive' enjoyment.
However, for someone concerned with clock placement, I can understand your ennui.

I simply love threads like this. Funny how the BMW is such an unreliable car and yet the 3, 5, and 7 are all recommended by Consumer Reports (hint, they do not recommend cars with below average reliability). Also LOVE the comments about BMW interiors being of lesser quality than Lexus - worse looking? For sure. Lesser quality? Not even close. Let's talk about rattles on the GS here guys....

PS - for those of you who said you would have bought a BMW if it was more reliable, now is your chance....you can even custom order the EXACT car you want and have it in about 6 weeks.
