Default Considering a 08 GS350

Hello,

I am considering going for an 08 GS350. Currently drive a 06 EVO IX SE and have had two IS300's in the past. I love Lexus and want to go back to owning one!

Anyway, it is great that the new 350 almost has the same power as the 460, really impressive.

One thing that bothers me is the red wood interior that has to come with the black leather. I really wanted a Starfire pearl w/ black interior, it just really sucks that you have to settle with red wood ... Is there anything that can be done to convert it to the black wood that comes with the grey leather interior? Is there any way to change it to an aluminum trim that looks like an OEM finish? If not, I would have to settle with the grey leather just so I can get the black wood, really really sucks hard.

I doubt anything can be done. But ash interior is nice check the dealer to see if they can order it... but again highly doubt it.

it doesn't get as dirt as beige.

it's not an "option" at all unfortunately, unless you go custom and diy to change the wood to black or aluminum. that's lexus for you

I have a red GS and the red wood goes very nice with it, the black interior is simply amazing.

I was in the same sitch as you, I was really contemplating the Ash interior just to get the black wood, but I ended up with black/red maple and have no regrets. I have young kids, and they would've trashed the grey leather/plastic interior parts, I can still see some scuff marks and scrapes with the black interior and can only imagine how bad the Ash or Ivory interiors would've looked. . .

Too bad Lexus doesn't offer a black wood / black leather interior option

There's still red in it though - maybe it's a company policy - all GS's with black interior must have some red in them

I am in the same shoes as you. I actually put a down payment on a granite GS with ash interior and black wood. My wife reminded me of what our 10 year kid to her last car which had a light gray interior. I change my color to red with black interior, I like the black leather seats much better and nothing stands up to dirt better than a black interior. Maybe its just me, but I think the black wood look like plastic?

blueIS - not sure if you're totally set on an 08 but there is a very nicely modified 07 GS350 in the Lexus Vehicle Classified section with a kit, wheels, UAS suspension, etc already installed

I personally saw this car at SEMA late last year and it was and appears to still be VERY VERY clean and meticulously taken care of...

Good luck!

Wow, that is one proper 3GS. Very nice. I emailed him, thanks for the info.

And wow, the "Passionate Black" with red interior is insane. Really crazy, I would be allllllllll over it if we had the option in the states, well worth the extra money...
