19" Tire Selection
Well since Im AWD, I have to consider outer diameter matching.
I was thinkin about the ride quality of the 19's. (19x8.5 and 19x9.5) I am considering something similar to the BMW 745 fitment.
F - 245/45R19
R - 275/40R19
or more aggressivly JDM, --->
F - 235/35R19
R - 275/30R19
Has anyone gone 19+ wheels and ran 45/40 series tires? I know guys with 20+ are running 35/30 series tires.
Im just concerned with ride quality and pothole protection. I know with 35's up front you are just a blink of an eye from bending a wheel. And you get a much stiffer bumpier ride.
Any thoughts? Obviously if I went 45/40 with 19's I'd do NF210's not DF's.
** Im less concerned with the Speedometer being off as i can find a fix for that.

225/40/19 would work. I know you say you don't care about the speedo, but you really should.
225/40/19 front
245/35/19 rear
kinda boring, but your speedo would be ok and your front wheels would have more protection. But if ride quality, and noise are a concern, you want to go boring and have 225/40/19 on all 4’s.

^^^ you missed the part where I was AWD and I have to have very close or matching outer diameter tire measurements.
the tire specs I gave per set are within 1/10th of an inch. If I go 35/30 (which I want to for looks) I will have a smaller rolling diameter than stock and the mileage shown would be more than the actual driven mileage. if I go 45/40 (which I like for comfort, and the wifey driving), I will have a slightly larger than stock rolling diameter, and the mileage shown will be less than the actual driven mileage.
*** If I were RWD, I wouldnt be in this mess picking and matching tires. My main concern is preserving the tire size and protecting a set of wheels that cant be easily replaced state-side. Dont get me wrong I love the 35/30 setup.
again I never said I dont care about speedo, I can get that fixed easily. there are many versions of "black boxes" you can wire in line of your vss to correct the speedo. I have done them in the past. Thats nothing new.

Thanks for the update. I wasn't aware that you could modify vss to correct the speedo.
I too am AWD, and was considering the 225/40/19's on all 4 as an option. Are you saying that can't / shouldn’t be done? The stock tires are 225/50/17, so I thought this would be very close to matching outer diameter tire measurements.
If you can get away the below tire setup, that would be perfect in my opinion:
F - 245/45R19
R - 275/40R19
Good luck with your choice. I think that by going with the bigger profile tire will keep the ride quality and preserve your rim from pothole damage (and keep the wife happy). I am curious why more people do not do this, especially if there is an easy way to adjust the vss to correct your speedo.

225/40R19 is fine if you are changing all four tires to four equally sized 19" wheels ie: four 19x8 wheels. My new wheels are a staggered setup so I have to chose 2 tire sizes that have equal outer rolling diameters, so a little tire size calculation is needed to match rolling diameters. Problem I have found is that that particular tire size is hard to find and when found - it is pricey. I am going to take a good look at some 35/30 tires and maybe borrow a wheel setup from a friend to drive on for a day to see how I like it.
