Default Am I SOL regarding this PDA?

I'd like to buy a Palm Treo 755P but I don't see it being Bluetooth compatible with my 2007 GS. In fact, I don't see any Palm devices mentioned on the Lexus website as being Bluetooth friendly. But...reviews of this smartphone say it is Bluetooth savvy and works with a variety of devices (not mentioning Lexus).

The question is...anyone using a Treo 755P (or any Palm Tr
eo) with their GS?

Not a GS, but a friend of mine is using an older Palm Treo - I think its the 650p - with a Lexus RX and it works fine.

I have an AT&T Treo 750 and it works fine on my 07 GS. FYI - the battery meter and signal strength do not register on the NAV screen but not the end of the world to me.

THe battery meter and signal strength do not work, true. I have used the 755p, as well as the older ones, the wx, and the x. Palm works off of "windows based" applications. With the GS inparticular i has problems syncing up all the time. Phone book will not transfer. And it drops calls often. (ALL MY EXPERIENCES).

I switched phones specifically for those reasons and now have a crackberry. (works perfectly, every application)

You might be one of the few where it works fine though. I have heard that as well, but more often than not, you will have a problem with the windows based treo.

I couldn't get my 755p to connect at all. My motorola connected within seconds. I just use the speaker now.

I've used 2 PDA phones with my GS so far. A Samsung Blackjack and a Blackberry Curve.

I have an AT&T Tilt, it connects but phone book doesn't transfer over. I manually programmed some numbers in so that I could use it while driving.

Verizon. No desire to switch as service has been very good in the land of plastic boobies.

I did find out that Verizon has a 30 day money back policy. I will jump on that as I should know within a day or two if the 755p works. Thanks all for the input and enjoy the holidays.

i see...i wouldn't suggest switching carriers. Everyone I know has Verizon and they love it. I have Sprint because i get a serious corporate discount. otherwise i would be with Verizon, as well. I have a Palm Treo 700p and there was an update that came out in June for the phone that updated the firmware. it specifically stated that the update would allow the 700p to work with BMW and Toyota/Lexus (Denso) BT systems. I looked around Palm's site and no such luck for your 755p as of yet. keep your eye on it, though.

here's the link for downloads for your phone:

http://www.palm.com/us/support/downl...reo755pverizon

here's the link to the update for the 700p...not that it will help you, but to show that they are making updates to these phones.

http://www.palm.com/us/support/downl...ate/index.html

Good luck...
