Do your own oil changes? Stealership? Local shop?
#16
All my previous cars have been lowered. So to make sure they didn't mess my kit, or wheels or anythingelse I've always done it myself. Currently I have a 99 GS(stock for now) but still I've started doing my own oil changes. Jiffy Lube? LOL I've done that once or twice. One of the two times I had the dipstick stuck in between the radiator and the frontend. I think he forgot to put it back. I wouldn't mind Lexus doing it but why bother. I have a garage, a driveway and I can get the oil and filters. I guess what I'm saying is I do it myself. For the peace of mind and the just the fact that I love tinkering with my car.

Why would you wait if they give you a free loaner?
My first 5k was free, my 10k and 15k was done at dealership. For both 10k and 15k service I only did oil change ($59). That always includes a free loaner for a day (IS), car wash of my GS, and a deli meal (always free food in their lounge). This is about $25 more than an average oil change at any respectable places in our area, and this extra money gives you so many bonuses and a piece of mind. Tire rotation is done outside for $18, and for 15k service I bought and will replace my own AC filter for $29. Although its just an oil change, they still check all the fluid levels and do their multi-point inspection. And at 15k service they also checked my brakes and even adjusted them complimentary.

It's settled. when I hit 5000, i'm going to the stealership.

The Lexus dealers here in SoCal are so busy, that many of the large ones will not give up a loaner for a free 5k service which literally takes less than an hour to do.

Yes, probably depends on a dealer. Here with Ray Catena, as long as you make an advance appointment, they will reserve a loaner for you. They also have a top notch car wash at their service department. I tried a few paid carwashes before and always get clear coat scratches and swirls. RC's car wash is flawless and free any time you want to use it (for any Lexus owner in the area). With food, it also depends on a dealer. Ours always have a double clear-glass vending fridge full of goodies. Their service and care is outstanding, but they also charge arm'n'leg for that
