Well everybody, my dash rattle is officially gone. Dealership did an excellent job. They took the dash out insulated it, then did the windshield clips. Let it cool off till night time, drove it in the cold and they heard some noise still. Then they went back and did more insulating. Waited till night time again, drove it and no noise. They then kept the vehicle an additional day to sit overnight and drive it when it was cold in the morning... no noise! Much happier with the car now, actually sounds like a Lexus should in the cabin!

Drove an 08 GS460... and it seems like Lexus listened. The car feels much tighter than my 07. No noises at all over bumps, even in sport suspension setting. My car had rattles almost right away. Hopefully it is better... I did notice the dashboard is different (you can tell by the "SRS Airbag" writing is now in a different spot).

oh, it will rattle.

none of the 07 cars i test drove rattled either. but look what happens after a few thousand miles..

I am sure that 3GS owners with rattles will chime in, but I'd like to hear from 3GS who have not experienced rattles and how long they had their cars so I could get a better statistical sampling of the problem. (I've had my 2008 for about a minus 5 days now, i.e. it's on the way.)

I purchased my '07 GS350 in Oct 2007. Manufacturing date shown on door is Sept 2007. I just passed 1k miles and have no rattles. After reading all these threads on rattling dashboards, I have been listening very closely. I read in some other thread that there was a TSB on this. When were the improvements made?

my 07 gs450h started rattling with 50 miles on it. It doesn't matter how many miles, more the time of year and how cold it gets.
Had mine insulated and fixed, so now it's all good, but yes, I even had the rattles with less than 50 miles.

Glad your rattles are gone Al, I hope they don't come back.

Sep 06 build date, delivery in Oct 06, 19K+ miles so far, no rattles.

I do live in a pretty warm climate in contrast to many fellow CL members, so perhaps I will not experience what others have reported... well, fingers crossed anyway.....

the dash rattles you hear about are only in cold weather. Nice living in warm weather.
YOu get the rattles with the tightening on items in COLD weather.

I got some of the rattles to happen during warm weather too. It's more apparent when it's colder.

I got 06 gs 430 back sept 05.I never heard this noise you guys are talking about.I guess it hit or miss with that noise.Did you have a 430?

I've only notice it when its really cold out. Its really not even that big of a deal imo. I can barely notice it. I usually use the radio anyway. Plus it only happens when its super cold

I always wondered what everyone was talking about with all these rattle complaints. I never heard any rattles in my 2007 GS 350 AWD but now that it just went over 5,000 miles and the cold weather hit ... the dashboard sounds like a marching band. Rattles coming from everywhere !

Going to call and make an appointment with dealer ASAP !

I'm not sure I would ever hear any dash rattles over my stereo.
