Default PICS: 2007 vs. 2008 GS Differences

These were taken last weekend. Thanks to Rominl for the help. Ebony & Ivory...Obsidian w/Black Interior vs. Starfire w/Ash Interior. These are both identical GS350's with ML & NAV.

2008 GS350 & 2007 GS350

Front Fascia - Noticed the enlarged grille and emblem on the 08. The front fascia loses the body line on the mid section, and in turn gains a rounded corners instead of a hard edge near the headlamps like on the 07. The lower grille opening has a different grate design.

Headlamp/Highbeam Assembly - The headlamp/highbeam combination lamp and the foglamps appear to be the exact same.

Mirror Assembly - The 08 is a bit larger than the 07.

18" 5 Spoke Liquid Graphite Wheels - 08 now features a directional fan blade design.

Door Handles - Notice the accent line on the center of the 08 version.

Rear Bumper - The 08 has an all painted bumper and has no black accents on the sides and the lower center of the bumper as the 07 did. The exhausts, taillamps and trunk lid remain unchanged.

Moonroof/Maplight Control Panel - The 08 version has a revised face plate that feature "valleys" for the moonroof buttons.

Drop Down Control Panel - The most obvious change is the relocation of the Trunk and Fuel release buttons. What has also changed is the actual size of the box. For 08, since there are less buttons, the box actually is shorter by almost an inch. The only problem is, you can still bang your knee on this if it is left down.

Relocated Fuel/Trunk Release 2008 - Located now on the outside right below the drop down control panel box.

Aux In Port - New for 2008, this port is located on the backside of the center console box.

Haha I'm sure those "valleys" will help for my passengers, they never know how to turn on the spotlight and end up touching the actual light all the time. LOL I can't tell where the new Fuel and trunk release is, is it below the console box above the parking brake?

Speedometer - The 08 version has italic text and this is apparent throughout the driver's guage cluster.

Warning Lights - Notice for 08, the new icon for the Power Steering warning lamp and the relocation of the Battery warning lamp.

Driver's Cockpit - Aside from the obvious color difference, see the new steering wheel design on the 08.

Gear Shift Bezel - The 2008 features a new brushed aluminum looking gear shift bezel/faceplate.

Ventilated Seat/ECT/TRAC OFF Panel - It's not as obvious but the font type in the 08 is different compared on the 2007. This is apparent throughout the dashboard. The font type in the 08 GS is similar to what is used in the current IS, LS and ES.

Mark Levinson Head Unit - Notice the revised DTS Digital Surround Icon and the removal of "MP3" & "WMA" on the 08 version. Font style difference is pretty obvious in these pics.

Door Sill Plates - Illuminated door sill plates for the front door sills on the 2008. The rear get the same raised brush stainless steel border.

Front Seat Accents - 08 front seats now feature a plastic graphite silver accent instead of the regular interior colored plastic accent.

08 GS Steering Wheel - Not everyone's favorite wheel design.

Smart Key Access Sleeve - The GS460 is the only one with the lighter colored key fob. For 08 (on the left), they went with a different style sleeve.

Another look at the rear view mirrors - The 08 being a bit larger still features auto dimming and heated mirror glass.

Great job. Didn't realize there were so many subtle changes. Many are good changes and some, like the steering wheel, were botched.

I like the 08 side mirrors, rear facia and that metal ring on the seats.
Everything else goes to the 07
