Turn-signal mirrors, lighted door sill, and iPOD connection are the only thing that I would want from the 08 model.
IMO, the only improvement on the 08 model is the fuel switch, trunk switch, trun-signal mirrors, lighted door sill, and the new sharper line of the front bumper.
But at the same time it ruined GS' sportiness, due to the chrome grill, radiator grill (honeycomb makes it more sportly). The extention of the rear bumper along with mono-colored made it looked dull. Finally new "directional" wheels also soften the sportiness.

guess who that white GS460 was reserved for
funny you should mention that car today, I just told them I won't be taking that car due to wrong options and higher price, guess 3 more weeks wait for me
the white gs460 had no illuminated door sills, which was kinda a deal breaker for me among other things

Wow. I thought ALL 2008 GSs had illuminated door sills. Very strange!

It's always worth the wait. I was surprised that Starfire/Black had 14 allocations in the West Coast this round. Astounding as this was never available for 06 or 07 unless you special ordered.

that baby was fully loaded with every single options available for the GS including the pre collision and Active Power Stabilizer Suspension System which pushed this GS to almost $70k MSRP!!
I told them good luck selling that, heard from Longo it went to some executives within lexus.

I have to chime in. With the exception of the new side mirrors, if I was buying now I couldn't justify getting an '08. The aesthetics are so, so minor between model years that unless you're **** retentive, nobody could tell the difference. And mechanically, the GS350 hasn't changed. Someone mentioned a $1,500 - $2,000 difference between an '07 & '08. I'd take the '07 and pocket the difference. I work too hard for $2,000 to throw it into a nearly identical car from one model year to the next.

i noticed that also that the sideview mirrors where bigger, at first i thought it was in my mind but when im driving now i noticed that i dont have to adjust the mirror every 5 mins. as in the 06 GS the sideview mirrors are horrible.the new 08 grill takes some time gettn use too. w/o rims the car looks funny as hell.i noticed that the grill looks real funnier on darker color cars. i have grown to like it actually better then the 06-07 grill. . it looks great on the mercury metallic esp with chrome rims to me. im my opinion the chrome accents on the mirror and chrome grill bings out the car if u have chrome rims. just wait until u see more 08 with rims then u would see what im talking about now when i look at the 06-07 it looks dated. it just looks too plan. im not bashing the 06-07 bc i like them both

It happens everywhere, on any car.
As I said, if I could have, I would have gotten 08 in an heartbeat.

Funny you mention that, I was told on several occassions that Longo doesn't do dealer trades - they are very protective of their inventory. Then again, Longo always seems to have the color combos I wanted . . .

i bet the new mirrors are quieter than the noisy ones on the 2007. I am still hearing a whistle and turbulence around my drivers side mirror

Serious, I was pretty sad when the dealer said they had no Starfire with black interior for the 07's. But I don't regret black on black at all! =D And spywolf, who said we're putting down the 08 just to make us feel better? It's not like every new accessory they change will ALWAYS be an upgrade or look better. =P
