I've been looking at GS 460s for a while now and I am struggling to find "the one" on the East half of the US.
I looking for a black on black one (color preferred) with 140k miles or less, clean condition, no oil burning, and no other mechanical issues. I want to pay fairly for the right one.
I'm located in Michigan.
Please let me know if anybody has one they are looking at selling. Thanks!

Interesting you want black. That’s the only color I won’t own lol. Literally shows every imperfection.

anyway good luck. My wife won’t let ours go. charcoal/black. Been a good car. Extremely rare.

My current car is black and I really do like the color despite it showing all the imperfections.

Why do you want a 460? There pretty rare to find now. Have you considered the 08-up GS350, as far as speed the 350 are no slugs, and more fuel efficient. Used parts are easy to find for the 350 vs the 460. Because you live up north have you considered an gs350 awd?

Just like the LS460 the GS460 (the 350 does not have) has abs issues, and when buying one I would make sure the owner has replaced it as the unit is very pricey, even used they are fetching good money. Some last 60-150k miles its hit or miss, I think it has to do with the hotter the climate the more prone it gets damaged. A member here who lives in the middle east went through 2 brand new abs units, and he was under 100k miles.

I'd try to find a 460 if thats really what you want, or a 4GS is you go with a 350.

I’m also hunting for a 460, but people are crazy with their prices right now. There’s an 08 in Florida that has low miles but two of the seats are torn and it’s got hazy headlights and a few other cosmetic issues and the guy is asking $16,000. It’s insane man.

I did drive a 4GS 350 the other day and I have to say that the acceleration was excellent. To the OP, I’m with ya man, I want a 460 also, but I gotta say after driving that GS 350, I’d be ok with that too. They’re quick. A 3GS has the same exact drivetrain and generally weigh a tiny bit less.

sad to say but different drivetrains.

differential, transmission and engine are completely different.

gs460 uses the same 8speed auto that comes in the IS-F.

I was saying the “4GS” and “3GS” use the same drivetrain in the 350 variant’s of those generations. I’m new to the GS side of things but I think I’m using those terms correctly, right? 3GS means “3rd generation GS” and 4GS means “4th generation GS”. To clarify, I’m saying the 2013 GS350 and the 2006-2011 GS350 have the same drivetrain.

To your point, the GS460 has more in common with an IS F, or LS460 more to the point, than it does with the 350. I was not trying to imply that the third generation GS460 and GS350 were the same.

I do stand by my statement though. That 4GS was quick! Lots of great induction sound and plenty of power.

Since the 460 is so rare, it might be easier to find one with the exterior color you like then swap out the interior from a wrecked one. Or grab one with the interior color you like and wrap or paint it.

I definitely wouldn't settle for a 350, if you look in the 3GS groups you'll see that they get worse gas mileage than the 460 thanks to our 8 speed transmission.

The ABS issue is pretty rare in the 460s, just grab a lower mileage one and you'll be fine, not to mention its less than a $1000 to fix as well, neither of mine are showing signs of any issues.

I agree! Your car is gorgeous! What wheels are those?

Did you purchase as an individual? Did your car have to be “rebuilt title”? Any advice?

I’m not opposed to putting some effort in to get the right car. And you have the EXACT color combination I want!

Nick

Thanks. I had a friend who is a car dealer buy and register it for me, and I did the rebuild process myself to save some cash, since I have done a few at the Florida DMV before.

The wheels are pretty rare, they are from the 2008 LS600hL model:

19"s with a 5x120mm bolt pattern. I had them drilled out to the standard 5x114

Wheels were $400, drill / insert was $250. I found the Goodyear Eagle Sports on FB marketplace for a steal at $150.
Plus mount and balance / alignment, everything came out around $900. Which is exactly what I then sold my OEM 18s with newish Sumitomo tires. So the wheels swap was pretty much free.
