Illuminated Door Sill Plates - Lexus.com

At $700+ for these replacement sills, I would think that a shop with a waterjet could turn a tidy profit by simply retrofitting the factory sills.
Cut out the "Lexus", attach a translucent piece of glass to the bottom of the sill under the cutout, attach a simple LED fixture, print a simple set of instructions for owner installation and you're done.
Operate it on an exchange program to speed up delivery. Shop has several sets of sills in the pipeline, and just ships them when they receive customers' originals.
The only wrinkle I see is that if someone sends in sills that are beat up. In that case, shop would need to retrofit and return that specific set to that customer so that no one else gets them ... would just take longer for those customers.
There ... someone wanna take that idea and run with it?

No idea if those will work in the 600, although I would imagine at $112K the 600 would already have these installed.

You're comment is valid were you aware that in Australia this
Car is 250 k which given the exchange rate AU1:08 to the US dollar
In your money its 271k
So yes illuminated sills should be standard and in platinum

Hopefully in the 4GS they'll allow for plug-n-play. Wiring these Japan lights is complete BS.

There are no instructions. These are meant for the Japanese market. My dealer had never seen them and it took them 5 days to finally get them installed. They were convinced when I setup the appointment that it was just the front door sills. All documentation that comes with the sills are in 100% Japanese. Good luck! You may have better luck at a reputable car stereo installation shop.
