Default 08 Gs 350

Hello all....

I'm a newb here hoping for some inspiration/direction...I currently have an acura tl, and I'm looking to upgrade. I have been doing lots of research but im leaning towards an 08 gs350 rwd. I'm done driving a fwd car and I definitely like the looks and features the GS has to offer. The other options I have considered are the M45 and the 5 series. I looked at the CTS and one thing I HATE is the fact the sunroof has the perforated cover so its never completely closed. So thats out. But I'm hoping you guys could give me any words of wisdom with this future purchase...

BTW heres my current TL

welcome to clublexus! the gs350 is a very nice car, in fact we are looking to get one as well (previously gs400). it has a lot of power, and the price is very good imho

i wouldn't choose the 5 series coz' i don't like its style at all, and of course for its price and reliability, it leaves a lot to think about

the m45 is very nice, and i believe they have some great deals going on right? between the gs and the m is all personal, depending on what you like really. for us, we can't get over the interior of the infiniti. the lexus is a lot more elegant, and the design is much better than the inifniti. but again this is very subjective

of course, another factor we consider greatly is gas mileage. the gs350 has some insanely good gas mileage for the engine i think, that's why it's our choice. otherwise, the gs460 would be on the table already (which is not bad, but not as good as the gs350)

Hello Blake. Welcome to the Club!

The GS is a fine machine. It's very comfortable, sporty enough for everyday driving, and very high tech. However, it may not be for everyone.

What are you looking for in a car? Perhaps a more elaborate description of what you want will help us provide some feedback. Also, have you test driven the GS yet?

Well first off, I cant stand the FWD anymore, so I want a RWD car, I want a luxury car that isn't lacking power, and obviously with a somewhat reasonable price. At the time I purchased the TL it was the best bang for the buck. I was considering a more sporty 2 door car, but I often have to take clients/friends places so I need a 4 door car. At the same time I want a car that has a decent amount of power.
No I haven't driven one yet, many have suggested that I do the research before driving the cars. I am actually planning to go drive some cars this weekend if I have time. BTW...Thanks for the quick feedback guys.

Welcome to CL!
i wrote you a very long reply but it got deleted. I hate my laptop!
ive test driven all the cars and ended with the GS. To make a long story short, bmw is great but pricey and expensive to maintain when your warranty is up, infiniti is just like the previous post mentioned, a great car but incomparable to the interior of the GS. Lexus is all around a great fit and I think it will be a smooth transition from your TL. You can still manage to get a great deal the 07's and remember the 08 is great and all, but all you really get is the side mirrors along with little changed here and there. I actually stormed back into my dealer because I purchased my car 3 weeks ago and they never mentioned anything about the 08. But once he showed me the difference, I was so happy with my choice and especially my price. Good luck!

Welcome! Nice TL by the way. I am about to pull the trigger on an 07 GS350. My beloved TL was stolen about three weeks ago!
