Why do all the newer GS's come with different tires? Should'nt they all come with the same brand? I guess the PS2's are the least road noise tire from what i've been reading.. Would this be a good tire to replace on stock 17's for 2 GEn GS? Thanks

Looks like Michelin Pilot Primacy's have been showing up on the latest production of 3rd gen GS w/18's. Hopefully they will phase out the noisy Yokos in future allocations.

Here's some pics... Michelin Pilot Primacy HP. Lexus used these tires previously for a short time on the Gen 1 IS300 (specifically 2004-05).

Default Me Yoko

I thought my OEM Yokos were great. Unfortunately, they only lasted 20K miles before I replaced them with Michelin PS2s. This could just be due to the way i drive though. I would have replaced with Yokos, but the price was $50 more/tire compared with the PS2s. Couldn't be happier with the PS2s

My GS350AWD came with the Dunlop Sport Runflats.

For those lucky ones that got Michelins tires, do you have the 350 AWD or RWD?

Just curious if the different tires had to do with the 2 models...

Lexus replaced my yokos with michelins as a courtesy gesture... still not very quiet. Actually I think it drove better with the yokos.

First Post!

I just bought my first Lexus a couple of days ago (a 2007 GS350 Obsidien/Chashmere). It came with the Michellins. They look great but they do sound loud when I get on the highway and I can feel the road beneath me at higher speeds (it feels like I'm riding low to the ground, like on a go cart or something). I used to drive a full size GMC Yukon so maybe I'm not used to how a car drives.

Do you think the tires need to be worn down a little?

Welcome to CL!

Unfortunately, these are characteristics of low profile summer performance tires. Lower profile, more grip, more noise. I have logged about 1600 miles on my Michelin Pilot Primacy HP's and they've been consistent so far. The
lower the profile, the more road noise you will encounter, especially nearing their useful treadlife.

I dorve the car for 300 miles now, I cannot bear the tire noise from the Yokohama, does anyone know I can ask the dealer to change tire? And any chance (how) I can get them for free?

What tires would you switch to (other than Lexus OEM tires of any type) to get less noise?
