de-badging a gs350
has anyone debadged their 350? I pulled the G off, and found that there was a small hole behind the letter. Anyone know if the rest of the letters (the Lexus also) have holes?

If anyone can answer this... What is the reason for debadging a car? Does it look better that way? If you were to eventually own a GS 460, would you want to remove its badging?
Because the GS 350 is a premium vehicle, I certainly wouldn't want to hide my car's identity. I've seen a lot of debadging on base model cars. I'm just curious to know if it's purely from an aesthetics point of view, or to obscure its position in the trim-level line-up.
Thanks in advance.

I think it's mainly aesthetics. Some people even go as far as changing the car's look so much that it begins to resemble other car manufacturers. Like the Honda Civic to the BMW 3 series.
I know with the new Corollas, the main Toyota logo has some holes but the main model badge uses only adhesive that can be taken off fairly easily.

if you find out how many holes there are under the G350 badge, please let us know. If you could, try to take a picture of it as well. I've been wanting to put a WALD emblem on that but I wanted to make sure I could cover up all the pre-existing holes.

I had my favorite body shop do it when they were painting and installing all my lower body clading. With everything painted and installed and the holes fixed it was a flat $600 (tax included).
