OEM tires on 06 GS300 RWD
 

Are the Yokohama Advan A10B OEM tires on 06 GS 300 RWD unidirectional or asymmetric? Can they be rotated diagonally or just front to back. I think the dealer rotated my tires diagonally at 10K service. BTW, I'm starting to notice more tire noise that I've been reading about on this forum.

When it's time to replace, what are some inexpensive alternatives. I've heard of Kumho Ecsta. Which is better, SPT or ASX? Anyone with experience with these tires. Thanks.

I replaced my 15k mile Advans with Khumo ASX's (06 GS300 RWD). It's like a different car. Very quiet and smooth. I have about 2000 miles on the Khumos so far and remain very happy. Highly recommended. The set of 4 (17") tires was under $500 mounted and balanced.

Thanks, Chocaholic. Did you look into SPT? I think ASX is an all season tire and SPT is a summer high performance tire like the OEM. How did you decide on the ASX?

The advans are the worse tires I have had on any car i've owned.

My 06 GS300 came with Dunlop tires. After 8000 miles I started to notice excessive road noise. I took it to the dealer and they said it was wearing unevenly. They rotated and realigned the wheels and asked me to drive it for another 1000 miles to even the wear. at around 10000 the noise got worse. I contacted customer service to complain about how fast the tires were wearing and my disappointment with their quality. The service manager installed new set of tires for free and I have not had a problem since.

Back to part of my original question, are the OEM Yokohama Advans unidirectional or asymmetric?

Yokohama Advans tires are UNIDIRECTIONAL.:p
