20's or 22's????

I want to put rims on my GS but I'm so torn between wheel sizes. I want to put 20's on with a staggered set up but I dont want a big gap in the fender and I refuse to drop it. 22's fill in the fenders just right but I dont know if 22's will destroy the ride.

So if you have 20's 0r 22's please post some comments about your experince with your set ups....post some pictures if you have them. What does it ride like now?

Thanks!

what are you currently running wheel size?

Jumping to 22's from anything 20 and under will destroy the ride IMHO.

20's look nice. 22's in my mind on this car just look rediculously silly.

why dont you want to lower it?

I have lowered every car I have ever had and regretted it. They just ride so stiff and bumpy. I have never done it to a luxury car but would assume the ride would for sure change for the worst.

Not 22's:egads: Please dont do it!!! Personally I would do 20's and a nice drop. There are s/s combos that still give you a nice ride. Search the forum, there are a lot of members here that have gone this route!

I am not a fan of big wheels but my brother got a third gen gs last year and put 22x9 in the front and 22x11 in the back and I have to say that it looks great..The style of the body flows perfect with the style and size of the wheels and it doesn't even need to be lowered..At first I was like many of you and was totally against going 22" and insisted on 20's and a drop but the 22's really complete the car..The ride isn't bad either..The new GS body is wider and longer than previous models which is why 22's look good..Ill try to get some pics next time he comes to my house..;)

I feel the same way...I was all about the 20's for the GS then I saw a few on 22's and it was like it was meant to be. I want to see some GS with 20's not dropped for a better look but I also want to ride or drive a GS with the 22's......IF ANYONE HAS 22's PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW IT DRIVES AND RIDES...BE HONEST....ALSO LET ME KNOW THE SAME THING ABOUT THE 20's. I know there is alot of you!

I just got some mods on their way.. I opted for 20". The car's body seems to sit just right on 20" vs 22". Will have pics up in ~2wks

I just cant see how going 4 or 5" bigger in wheel size will not destroy the ride. Maybe at first the ride wont be horrible but Im sure it will destroy the suspension within a few thousand miles... Just my opinion, not based on experience...
$50,000 car that drives like a beat up Neon is not where you wanna be...

upgrade the suspension that will withstand it.

20" rims with a drop is perfect, 22's are overkill and will make your ride look silly.

keep it classy bro and dont go ghetto fabulous with 22's....spend the extra money and get a nice staggered set of 20's multi-piece wheels.

check out the rest of the CL members' 3gs rides on 20's...tasteful and the ride is tolerable to say the least. if you drop it on tein s-techs...ur camber is not bad and tires should be worn evenly...i dropped mine on stechs and to this day I am still riding very comfortably and it still feels like a lexus on 20's.

it's ur ride, do what you think i like to look at everytime u walk up to it...but all i'm saying is no one can tell you ur ghetto with a nice ass set of staggered 20 3-piece =P

my 2 cents
