There's something wrong with my brakes!

There isn't any brake dust on my wheels and I've been driving the poop out of it! :D I can't begin to tell you guys how happy I am with the new pads. :woohoo: Now if I could only get these pads for my other cars....

seriously? It works that well? THat does it. my first oil change and I'm gonna have them swap the pads out. They better not tell me I need to bring teh car in to get checked first, then reschedule for the appointment.

2thfxir,

Any performance drop off. I talked to the dealer and they said they would change them out for no charge, but I should expect a performance drop with the new pads.

You're tempting me. I had the car detailed yesterday and by the end of the day, the wheels were black. I hate that.

I've had the new brakes for almost a month and have literally zero brake dust. I have not noticed any decrease in braking efficiency.

Best thing I have done yet to my new GS.

Nauticalx Apr 7, 2007 01:24 PM

What brand are these pads and how much do they cost? Where do you buy them?

Cut-Throat Apr 7, 2007 02:34 PM

I have been corresponding via e-mail with the service manager at my dealership the last day or so. He is being a prick about this and is not jumping at the chance to do this for me.

My next e-mail to him will be - "maybe I should contact another Lexus dealer"

Is this done on front and rear brakes as well?

Can't understand why they'd be relucatant to apply the TSB :uh:

But keep on pressing your SA. The low-dust brake pads have worked great for me and others on CL.

Take a copy of the TSB to the dealership when you bring in the car. I did mine done about 2 mos ago, brought in the TSB and the SA said he was not aware of this TSB. Made sure the new pads were in stock, 3hrs later car was finished, washed ready to go. This is for the front pads as the rears are not an issue, After a week between washes, virtually no dust! Would not hesitate to do it if you hate black wheels.

Why don't you send him another email and include the TSB attachment. There shouldn't be any questions after that...and if there is, ask for the service manager, remember the squeeky wheel gets the grease.

There are low dust performance pads by third party like mintex, and hawk for your other vehicles. I have some on my Audi.

Best thing since sliced bread!

I keep looking for a difference but can't find any. They feel the same and I am usually very sensitive to things like this.
