06 gs300 aftermarket stereo installation
Has anyone successfully installed an aftermarket navigation system in a 2006 gs300? I have one without nav or ml and I want to install either a Pioneer AVIC-N3 or Z1. I have around $3000 to spend. Would this void my warranty? Is it possible to have the dealership install an original dvd nav unit? I would also like for my oem touch screen and my steering wheel sound controls to continue working with the new head unit. I took my car to Sound Advice and the installer there told me that he wouldn't even touch the car for fear of breaking something. I then contacted Crutchfield and they don't have any information whatsoever. I have searched everywhere without success. Thanks.

There are alot of problems with what your thinking of.
First, why would you keep the OEM touch screen if you
want to install a AVIC-N3 or Z1? They have their own
touch screens.
You have to keep your OEM screen, how else will you control
the Heating/ AC? Or gain access to the Info screen?
If you must have a navigation system, purchase an ALPINE
V-Hub Pro. Then buy the ALPINE navigation system.
It will give you a Great navigation controled by your OEM
screen. $3000 should get you there.

Even I prefer doing that but it is not feasible or cost more money. But right now I am trying to configure Vasitech SL2VI with Mimics X2 so I can completely control IPhone from head unit,I need to install switch before I call it is completely ready & usable.
My Initial test run with the setup looks promising.
