rattle from the sunshade
Anyone else have a rattle sound from the rear of the car? I think it is coming from the sunshade. Since the cabin is pretty quiet I am picking up on this noise and it is annoying me...
I had the same type of off and on rattle, my service rep sat in the back of my car and I drove him around.
What I was told is right in the middle of the back seat, above your head and out of site behond the roof liner, there is an antennae. He said this connection is prone to rattling/squeaking...I am getting it fixed at my 5k service.
This sounds like the same prob you have as it is hard to locate but Newport Lexus knew about it right off of the bat.

Great post. I just noticed this exact issue with my 07 GS350. I thought it was my sunroof but when I would hit it with my hand the rattle was further back towards the rear seat in the headliner. I am printing this out and taking it to my service rep. I also have to get them to fix the darn brake squeak in my right rear tire. Too many noises for a new Lexus.

I had same issue, they could not find it....then i found that it was the small door behind the fold down tray in the middle, it was not fully latched, check it, it may be your noise, mine was a metal sounding rattle and this was it..
Dealer said he took apart the sunshade are an "fixed the issue". But after I was driving home i started to hear it again. Was not as loud but it was still there!
I am going to let the rep know it is still there, hopefully they can find a way to fix it.
Thanks for the info on the fold down tray, I will check that today.
