Event Data Recorder / Black Box
 

There's an video/article on CNN right now about the "Black Box" in a car. Basically these are event data recorders that record the events in a car 10 seconds before and 1 second after the airbag is deployed. I guess these are suppose to help monitor the effectiveness of airbags, but they have been used against car owners as well in a negative manner. Hopefully none of us is ever put in a situation where we would have to use or see this, but the question I have is are our Lexus' equipped with this device? I believe the statistic they mentioned in the video is that 75% of new cars being sold have this device.

Those kinda **** put people in jail. It's stupid. But it all depends on which side of the ball you want to play on.

LS460 has an EDR system. Only Lexus model currently that does.

i read in my manuel GS350 that is does have a box that records that type of data

I believe that all toyota models have them, that Toyota is
the only company that has 100% installed. Just read it somewhere.
