Im back on the forum!!! For those who dont know.... I had a 2001 GS430 at first... sold it and bought a BMW 745... got sick of that... and now im back with a 2006 GS430!!! Black on Black (yep... stuck with the black theme!!) I see a few people have made the switch to the 3rd gen..... Just a few questions i came up with that i need clarified (and yes i tried search!)

How do i get the nav to play DVDs?
Also, has anyone done the whole clipping of a wire behind the navi screen to unlock it?

FYI i have version 4. something i believe in the navi right now

 

Yep, i did the DVD wire clip mod after only 4 days of ownership ;-) Took me about an hour to do and works perfectly. If you have any electrical skills (installed a car audio system or alarm) you should not have any problems with the mod.

 

Great! So i wouldnt be able to watch any dvd's (even while parked) untill i do this mod... correct?

Hmmm... how? I inserted a DVD and just the sound came on. Also, the "picture" button was inactive? Any ideas guys?

Just to confirm... i will be clipping 3 wires for the hack mod... .correct?

 

You need to have the parking brake on to view DVDs even when parked.

Thanks for the congrads everyone... i actually got it "used" so thats why the 430 Is the 430 lower than the 300's?

 

GS350 is quicker than the GS430. GS300 gave up somewhere at the beginning of the race. lol.
