Default Nav Display ?

Guys............

Got to drive the the new GS as a loaner the other day............super sunny day and the Nav display was very difficult to see.............

Maybe it was my 50 year old eyes................. and I did not fool around with the contrast. Don`t have that problem on my RX..............it has what I would call a "visor"............

Do they make sunglass readers?.............

Even with maximum contrast, the display is hard to see in bright light. This is true of any nav display that isn't recessed, and the GS falls into that category.

Thanks.........I also have an `01 GS w/o Nav and the displays are hard to see on a sunny day.

I really enjoyed driving the new GS............but I did find that disconcerting............compared to the RX...........

I close my sun roof shade and visibility increases.

you are right. the GS screen is not as recessed as the RX, so the RX is much more visible. and the RX has a little sun visor above that helps with glare. i don't know why they didn't incorporate that into the GS.

also, the Gen 4 nav is very pixelated-looking, while for some reason the Gen 3 looks cleaner to me and easier to read (i don't know how they went from 3 to 4 and got worse!). however the Gen 5 blows them both away and with the 32k colors it is much easier to read and very bright.
