Default Gs300 or gs430

Need your help guys, is it worth the extra money to go from the 300 to 430, im mainly gonna be driving around town, city driving, and some interstate driving, not a speed demon, but does the 300 have sufficent power?

I cant speak for the GS 300 as I've never driven one, but I love the power of the V8 my 430 puts out. Best thing to do is to go and test drive both models and see which one is best for you.

If I had to do it all over again I would have gone for the 430. I will be looking into a new GS in a year or two so I will probably be getting the 450H, but the 350 would still be an option.

And the GS460 (supposedly available toward the end of the year) horsepower rating should be near or at 400hp.

Man if Lexus doesn't come out with a Sports Package (e.g. 1/2 to 1 inch drop, slightly firmer suspension, and wide tires) for a car with that amount of power ... I don't know what to say

Most new BMW 550 I see on the road have the Sports Package. Obviously the demand is there and from the discussion I've been reading at CL, I see lots of interest for a "sporty" GS as well.

If the report in THIS THREAD is accurate, then the GS460 is supposed to be available Spring 2007.

Agree 100%, otherwise, the extra power is just good for a straight line. I hope they have something similar to the active stabilizer system available for the GS450h for the GS460 sports package too.

GS3's got enough torque to take you around town, the car really pulls good past 4K to redline as well, you wont be dissapointed.

Thanks for all the suggestions, i'm thinking i'll be waiting for that GS350 with all the research i've been doing, and does anyone know if lexus is going to offer a similar navigation system to the Acura RL (xm linked traffic data on navi screen)?

Good question, I understand that the new LS460 will have this feature. Hoping the rest of the '07 Lexus models will as well.
