GS300 Now or ES350 GS350 Later
Should I buy a GS300 now at $1000.00 above invoice or wait for ES/GS 350 and buy for
list price? Do you think I can get a better price than $1000.00 over invoice? If so how much?
Thank you for your comments and God Bless.

Boy, if it were me, I'd wait. I think if you bought the GS300, even at a good deal, you would be kicking yourself once the GS350 hits the streets. I wouldn't mind buying a new GS430 but figured my car is already quicker and will be waiting for the new GS460 and much greater horsepower. Good luck either way.

Just be patient. And pay list for the ES/GS 350? Sorry, but I can't imagine paying MSRP for either car, maybe for the 450H since it's a limited production model.
If you wait a couple months after the intiial release, trust me, discounts will be readily available. However, if you want to be the "first on the block" with the car, then expect to pay the premium.

You'll definitely be able to get a good deal on a 2007 GS 350 if you negotiate well and are patient. I have decided to wait for a 2007 GS 350 AWD because it’s going to be better than the 2006 GS 300 AWD performance wise and some of the first year kinks will be worked out. I’ll be placing an order for a fully loaded 2007 GS 350 AWD and a fully loaded 2007 IS 350 come this fall so hopefully I can get both cars for close to invoice. ( I got my 2005 Acura TL and my sister's 2005 Acura TSX for invoice in November 2005 because my dad bought them at the same time. )

There's no good answer to the question of should I "buy now" or "wait." If you buy now, you'll be unhappy later. If you wait, then you have to continue driving the car your unhappy with now - either way, your unhappy.
There are enough car manufacturers on different product cycles to guarantee there's going to be something better just around the corner. Unless you plan to keep a car for more than 5 years, just pick the best of those currently available and be content.
Over the next 5 years, the speed limit won't rise, traffic won't get any lighter, and you won't need anymore HP than you need now. If the GS300 meets your performance needs, forget about the GS350 and save some money.

On the other hand, I think the GS350 will be a lot quicker than the GS300. The GS300 is 6.8s 0-60; I'm expecting the GS350 to be 5.8s 0-60.
A one second difference is pretty big and very noticeable.

how long can you wait?
my philosophy might be weird and people might think otherwise, but to me being the first is not really smart. i said i would never get the gs300 since its debut back in early 03, coz' i know there will be a gs350, and i will still say the same now. it's just silly imho, given that you will get a much more poweful engine and some improvements for pretty much the same price.
but then, i most likely will NOT get the gs350 when it comes out and everyone fighting for msrp too. don't see the point of paying msrp when i know in half yr or so i can get a lot of discount. so in my eyes, next spring is a good time for gs350. i would rather wait for another yr in a crappy car than getting the gs300 for cheap or getting gs350 at msrp
hope i am not offending anyone

I noticed that the MSRP went up a few hundred even for the same 06 gs300 since I purchased it, and in reality, the gs450 will probably be about MSRP of $47,500 with the most basic options package (package 1). and 4-6K more for a ML/NAV version.

Espically if they raise the sticker price like they did on the RX350. They are offering me 1,000 more on my trade then glaves book and they are willing to sell the the car to me for $47,300 on the $52,444 sticker. So that is why I am leaning towards doing the deal with the 300. I mean I would love to have the extra power and the newer nav system but I don't think I would be able to afford it. If the car was getting a cosmetic change then I would def wait. THe thing that worrys me is if when I go to trade it in that I will get notting because it's a 300. However my friend owns a 2002 es300 and he had no problem getting a good price on the trade even thought his wasn't a 330 es. I guess no matter what it is still a Lexus and that it will always hold it's value. But I do know that I will come know where near this price when the gs350 comes out and that I would prob have to wait until at least Dec to come close to invoice and I would be screwed with my trade.
