Winter Tire Set-up?
I have always put Blizzaks on my Audi in the winter with my stock 16" rims, and had a set of 17" rims with performance summer tires on them. For my GS300 AWD, I want to do the same thing. I do not want to use my runflats for winter driving on my GS300 AWD, and wanted to know what others were considering for a winter tire set-up.
Options I was considering:
1. Mount blizzaks on my stock 17" rims and remount the runflats in summer on same rims.
2. Mount blizzaks on a set of 16" rims for just winter driving, and keep my stock 17" rims and runflats for summer.
3. Mount blizzaks on my stock 17" rims, and buy a set of aftermarket rims for my runflats for summer driving.
Was wondering what others were doing now that snow is showing up in forecasts (it snowed here on Saturday for a brief time), and where you were buying your winter rims/tires from? Thanks

I just bought another set of the stock 17s with the Yokohama Advan tires on them with sensor off a guy that got himself after market wheels and tires. I am going to keep my Dunlops that came with the car as is, they have 10,000 miles on them and I am going Sotre them for the winter The New set i picked up I will be puting a set of Dunlop M3s on and storeing the Advan rubber until i wear out my dunlops. The Dunlop M3s have very good ratings in all catagories... nice to see on a winter tire where performance normally suffers.

My dealer, Lexus of Portland, is going to install a set of Bridgestone Blizzak MZ-03 on our GS430 next week. That is the only Blizzak model that came in 245/40x18 and it's a run flat. After reading the problems some folks have had with the pressure sensors I felt it was worth the extra cost to have them supply and put on. I wouldn't normally bother with snow tires, when it snows here we just stay home for a day or so but we'll be heading into snow country over Christmas and want to be somewhat prepared.
