Lexus’ next hybrid
Lexus confirmed it will have the GS 450h hybrid luxury sport sedan available for U.S. sale by March or April 2006. Plans call for it to initially be an exclusive model with a price premium consistent with that seen between the RX 330 sport/utility vehicle and that model’s hybrid RX 400h. Expect Lexus to add options to make the price differential somewhat more palatable. GS 450h features a 3.5-liter gas V6 coupled to an electric motor to generate 340 hp and get from 0 to 62 mph in less than six seconds. For those who care about such things as Lexus’ European market efforts, Lexus’ overall 2005 European sales will reach 28,000 by year-end, a healthy 15 percent increase over early sales goals.

I also read this in Autoweek and wondered what was meant by the phrase "...initially be an exclusive model..."? Is Lexus considering several versions of the Hybrid GS or just different trim options?

Again, 340 sounds right. The hybrid is called a 450 because it will make the equivilent power of a 4.5 liter V-8
Audi 4.2 makes 340hp
Infiniti 4.5 makes 335hp
Sounds right. I hope they can get 350 out of it
