Looking to replace my 01 with a new 06- wondering if you guys are getting anything off sticker. Local dealers are treating them like art!!

Most likely, dealers will get msrp. Its usually the price u pay to be one of the 1st to have one.
Remember when the IS300 first came out...MSRP. When the C6 vette was released, again MSRP.
But sooner or later, there will be discounts. 3, 6, 9 months - only time will tell

I just hate feeling like Im getting pushed into the car- all I hear is I better get it now before they run out- like its a Cabbage patch doll- limited supply. I only got 3k off the 01 when I got it, but it just feels better...

Cool

Seattle salesman mentioned to me to wait to June/July to get 500/1000 off msrp. I thought it odd how that would the quiet time of the year. Of course he is guessing but seems logical, just a question of how long you can wait.

I find it hard to Believe Lexus will have these models (gs300/GS430) go from March 2005 to Oct 2006 with no/minimal changes. Not withstanding the GS hybrid due middle of 2006.

What can u get for a cabbage patch doll today? If your dealer runs out, they will get more. As more are made, the initial "gota have it demand " will be satisified and thus discounts. When the C6 1st came out, dealers were adding on 10k to 20k over msrp. Now you can go to a corvette forum dealer and get 2k off msrp. (coup - not vert)

There's no need to feel that pressure of being pushed into the car. Be patient like a good percentage of the consumer market and you will see price drops. Classic law of supply and demand is working here. Just be patient.

I think the new GS will be selling at MSRP for a while (if I had to guess, I would say AT LEAST 6 months).

Why? Well, my 2002 CR-V was selling at MSRP for 9 MONTHS! Yes! A freaking CR-V!!!! It was the first year of a new generation.

I was working with 4 dealers in the NYC area and non of them were willing to sell for less than MSRP. I check around Jan/Feb, non of the dealers wanted to talk to me. Then in June/July, they were still selling for MSRP and a 4 week wait! YES! A freaking CR-V.

I got mine in October (when the '03 allocations were starting) and that's when they started to discount. So if a car such as a CR-V demanded MSRP for 9 good months, I would assume the 3rd gen GS will do the same for a while.

Well, I guess there IS a way of paying less than MSRP. Go to a state where imports are NOT popular. Go to a state where most people drive domestics. Since demand isn't as high there, I'm assuming dealers are willing to discount. Again, just my opinion.....and I'm assuming.

Default We Never Discount these Cars Sir...

I concur with Flip. At our store we have about 25 existing orders with deposits that in some cases have been earning interest for over a year. The first cars will go to these patient folks and there will be some extra units laying around the lot that didn't have a matching order. The more of these on the ground and the better chance of a discount. If and when they accumulate it will make the dealers ready to discount to earn more allocation. Now the Longos and the J&M's already have huge allocations which is another good reason to make friends with Elizabeth because she will have the best selection. Certain colors will be hot and others will sit for a while. There is an old expression that says" There is an *** for every toilet seat." Colors that you and I might consider horrendous will undoubtably be someone else's joy to behold.

That is such a true statement. I have the same feeling of the cashmere interior GS' or any beige colored interior for that matter, no offense! But there are buyers out there that feel the opposite.
