Hello everyone, I have this 2006 GS430 that I’ve had for about 3 weeks now and I’ve kinda been having problems with it since the day after I’ve had it. It started with power steering problems that weren’t crazy at first which have now turned into a nightmare to figure out but I also have another major problem in the fact that my car is excessively overheating. On the freeway earlier the car gave me a check engine light before going completely limp, acceleration stopped completely and I had to coast the car till I hit a shoulder. From there I pulled out my scanner and pulled code P0117, the cars coolant also read 282 degrees. After letting the car sit for a bit I drove it to an Autozone and topped up on coolant and only made it about 2 miles before the car overheated again. From there I towed it back home and replaced the coolant temperature sensor (part #SU4320), then I took it for a drive again in which the car overheated yet again after about 5 miles, I pulled the same code again and am now letting the car sit for the night. Any and all help would be appreciated.
These cars do not go well at all with aftermarket electronics, especially sensors. Even more so with Duralast. When I got my car it had a MAF sensor from them and it constantly ran rich. Replaced it with a used OEM sensor and the design wasn't remotely the same. Yet when you look up the part number it's a 'replacement'. I'd run this test and then do the same, if it doesn't pass. But is the car actually overheating, or is it just the reading?

Car was indeed overheating, I changed the thermostat yesterday and drove it to a mechanics. However on the way the car began rough idling and I pulled codes P0300, P0303, and P0306. I’m scared that I warped one of my heads now however the cars at the mechanics so no way of checking.
Worse come to worse, 3UZs are plentiful, and the engine swap isnt too bad of a job. How much did you pay for the car? I doubt this problem actually started the day you got it.

Paid 6000$ and drove the car from San Diego to LA no problem, then the next day problems began. Contacted the owner and he said he never experienced anything like what I described before. If worst does come to worse can I swap my engine out with any 3uz or does it specifically have to be a 2006-07 3uz?
