Default Driver Door handle Cannot open from inside

Hello,

My GS300 driver door cannot be opened from the inside or the outside. Appreciate if anyone came across this issue in the past. I'm surprised I have not been able to google for a solution hit. Has anyone come across this issue before?

I'm able to lock from inside. I have to lower my windows to be able to open the door from the outside. It is similar to this post. I still need to buy a panel remover tool, but at least I see there's already a DIY on how to remove the door panel here.

Hopefully I just need to replace the latch cable once I can find the correct part number.

Thanks in advance.

Sean

Update: the door cannot be opened from inside. I can lower the windows and opened from the outside.

So you can open the door from the outside handle, but not from the inside? There are two cables that run from the inside door handle and door lock back to the latch mechanism. It sounds like the cable running from the inside handle to the latch mechanism somehow became disconnected. I’ve had my door apart in the past, and as I recall, the cable has a little ball on the end of it and that ball hooks into something right behind the inside handle so that when you pull the handle, it pulls on the cable and triggers the latch.

Thanks @e-man . I've been watching youtube videos of taking panel part. Thanks for the pictures above. I see there's two lines. Hopefully it got popped off somehow. I was looking for the part number to see if I can see where I can order if the cable but if i can't find the part number, I guess I'll have Lexus dealer order it for me.

a quick update, iI can see clearly a piece of plastic broke off and went ahead and ordered the part from amazon since it was cheaper and supposedly faster shipping, but Amazon botched and took > 2 weeks before I received. I was able to swap out and put back the cover easily.
