Hi, i have an 2008 gs450 and when im turning on highway speeds to the left it seem like there its one point that get stuck and i have to put more effort to bring it back to center, it happens 90% of the times, i looked in the forum and looks that i should change the steering rack and pinion, my main question its that i cant find one in europe, i found some that looks identical in pictures but not exactly same references, can i use them? Some places told me gs450h from 2006 to 2011 uses the same even with different references, and i found one in very good shape from a 2009 gs 460 also.
Also, i read some post about cleanig ecu, but i dont know where the p/s ecu its at in the gs450h
Thanks.

I wouldnt replace parts unless you have properly had it diagnosed. What you are feeling is it mechanical lock or electrical lock? Is it binding or is power shutting off on the rack?Originally Posted by Elrafita

What I would do, lift the front end. If you have a 4 post lift even better. With the car running and mechanic underneath turn the steering wheel left to right and he should be able to see whats going on. It could be a loose tie rod, bolts come loose, dirty plugs etc. For you to just slap parts guessing for a fix is not a good way, because you will end up spending a lot more money and in the end it could just be something minor.

Hi, it s hard to define if its mechanical or not, its like in a point ps dont work and comes after reach that point, that point changes deppending speeds and using the sport button, but it happens almost always and always turning to the left
my mechanic reviewed everything and he worked on lexus, he thinks its mostly steering rack, thats why i ask for references, i also going to change bushings and front arms next week.
The feeling its close as described here
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...long-post.html
"At times, while traveling at freeway speeds, I experienced a non-binding notchy steering feeling. It would only occur at highway speeds when changing lanes or coming out of long, sweeping turns. When it would happen, the steering wheel would not smoothly self-center and it wanted to stay in the turning position. When I would force it to re-center, it would initially give me a slight notchy/sticky feeling. It would feel as though a very light amount of force wanted to keep the wheel situated in that position. It would also make it difficult to keep the car going straight and required constant focus, which is something I just got used to."
Thankyou
