06 GS300 Trunk Won't Open
My first trunk issue was with the trunk air shock arms as I call then, to gently close the trunk, I don't remember if they self raised when opening, but after a hard slam shut, the trunk would only open by using the key, and it could have been a fuse since no noise was made when using any button. In the middle of ordering parts and waiting on parts and the employee left the business and I haven't started the diagnostic process all over again. I can live with having to use my key each time but now the key won't turn at all and I opened the backseat cubby to try to reach the emergency handle inside the trunk by way of using a pole, yes it moves down but the trunk still does not release.
I am aware of the valet button in the glove box, and if it is a fuse, my trunk still opened by the key. So I read quickly about the battery cables and disconnect for a reset, I haven't tried that but I will on the advice I get or is there another something to get the trunk open? Even at the dealership I don't think the fuse replacement will solve the key not turning inside the lock. |

But I did in fact disconnect the battery, waited 10 minutes, plugged it back on and surprisingly it worked. Everything works fine now. The official Lexus dealership wanted me to charge 300$ for the lock mechanism alone. |
