Question Ebay auctions: GS400 at TXCARS.net... trustworthy?

Hey peeps,

Im looking at buying a GS400 on ebay from a place called TXcars.net in Arlington Texas? For those in TX, anybody heard of them? Any feedback would be appreciated. Has anyone bought a car on Ebay? If so, how did it turn out.

Peace

BEORE BUYING A CAR GET AN UNLIMITED CARFAX ACCOUNT FOR 19.99. SEARCH THE VIN OF EVERY POTENTIAL CAR.

I practically stole my car; I paid $22,000.00 out the door tax and license included. I saw it advertised on ebay and called the dealer that night & first thing in the morning.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2432383759

I told how much I had to spend (blank check) and that I was willing to drive down from San Francisco to LA or fly down there and drive back if he could meet my price (That shows him that I am serious). He okay'd it through his boss and I grabbed a rental car. 8 hours later, I was in my new toy So I recommend using ebay as an "Online Classified Ad" service. Then when you find what you want, call and make personal arrangements with the dealer.

Here is something I learned. To bring in customers to their lot, they sacrifice what is called a "Loss Leader"; a car they are willing to sell for cost for the purpose of getting people to come in. It's basically sacrificing the dealer markup profit the the sake of advertising.

Can't beat it! It only had 49,000 miles and is in EXCELLENT CONDITION. Well, you know, you saw the photos.

thanks for the reply....

I just won that auction for the 98 GS400 for $17,000.00 which seems too good to be true.

My gut says something is wrong with it.

peace

Hey Silver,

I tried to run a CARFAX report on it but my account expired Thursday October 9th. The car look sbeautiful. Congratulations on your purchase My only guess as to why the car is priced low is the mileage. But that's normal for a 5-6 year old car.

Enjoy your new toy

What is the first thing you are going to do with it? Sleep in it and only get out to bathe? Wash it? Tint the windows? Add security?

Thumbs up ebay car

congrats to you that is a beautiful color. boy they sure show you a lot of pictures. my guess is you got a terrific car at an affordable price. the miles and year are major factors in price but that car can go another 100k easy. i always wonder if i just made a mistake whenever i buy a car. dealers are not your friend even when they act like you're pals. they are there to make money and they get that from you. let us know how it works out. i've heard of others who got great cars cheap on ebay. i have a fear of trying things like that but as i hear more about it it is starting to go away.

That car is price normally for TX due to the miles. The service history is perfect on the car. The funny thing is that along with Nak the car had 17"s from the factory. Good Luck!

I wonder why 90% of the cars on ebay are being sold from Texas. What's so special over there?

There are a lot of cars here but mainly becuase wholesale market here is lower than any where in the US. So a TX wholesale car that is regular price here will probably be cheap elsewhere. We sell alot of non lexus on Ebay. Certified cars are too expensive to sell on ebay at www.smccalllexuspreowned.com we normally sell damaged or high mileage cars at wholesale auction and independent dealers remarket them on ebay.

No the only cars that have problems due to the climate or surroundings are cars that have driven over salt in the road, which we really dont have much here compared to the northern part of the country. Also some cars from desert areas have more chips and pits in the hood and windshield, but TX you dont have alot of that either.
