Default 5V source for Power Steering Pressure Sensor Switch

Hi,

I am getting a CEL for my Power steering Pressure Sensor switch. Tried to figure it out and found that it is not receiving 5V at the switch which I assume is due to a break on the wire. Can you please help and guide me to where i can get a 5V souce for the pressure sensor switch..
I am planing to disconnect the switch wires from the engine harness and connect them directly i.e. signal to the ecu, ground and 5V supply..

Would need to know if you have a GS300, 400, or 430 and the year as ECU pin-outs changed halfway through the GS300's run in order to get you the right ECU diagram. I gather from your post that you want to run a wire directly from the ECU to the P/S pressure sensor. So an ECU diagram for your car is what you are looking for correct?

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any info on this circuit. The normal pin-outs online don't mention it and I even looked at our service information on AllData at my shop. Couldn't come up with much. There is a steering and traction control module somewhere under the dash that might be where it gets it's source. Hopefully someone will chime in on it.

Not clear on what you are trying to do. How many wires go to the sensor?

The connector is located beside power steering pump and has 3 wires. 1 wire traces back to the ECU and connects at plug E3-2, the 2 others wires are supposed to be +5V and ground. I need a 5V source for providing reference to the connector.

5 volts is going to come from one of the ECUs like you say so may need to run a wire, or maybe from another sensor nearby? If it was me I would try and find where the wire is broken.

This sounds like the harder way to fix a problem. Unless someone who knows how to do it that way, and can walk you thru it, u could end up doing all kinds of work and never solve the CEL that initially started this repair. I would just go ahead and pull the power steering pump off and take a look at it and the components that control and operate it. Usually they are leaking fluid cause all the gaskets and seals are worn out. When they wear out, not only can they leak but also they can cause the systems that work on a dry system or wet system that’s ending up dry. Take a look at everything involved with the pump as u disassemble and remove everything. If it’s leaking, clean it all up the best u can with degreaser and brake cleaner and then check everything out again, if nothing stands out as the culprit, take several good photos of the components and upload them to this thread and we will see if anything looks suspect and go from there
