Okay so my brother has a 99 Lexus GS300, he recently did a motor swap with an 02 Lexus GS300. The issue is that the car won't start. I suggested him to change the starter that his original motor had to see if it did anything, but the issue still persists. He says that it doesn't do anything. So I am guessing there's a short somewhere because I remember him mentioning that some of the electrical wires on the motor that he put on had some of bare wire showing and according to him he put on some electrical tape on all that he have seen. I am not well versed with cars in general, so I am honestly clueless on how I could help.
Did the motor come with a set of keys? His original key wont work with that new motor if he swapped out the ECU too. You have to program the ECU to the key transponder.
Thank you everyone trying to help, apparently it was a relay that had like a spacer and wasn't making any contact. Or so he claims, I really appreciate y'all! (:
