Hey gang -

What's the black box covering the front upper strut for? This is only in 2001+ GS models. Someone told me if you got them, you CANNOT put on a front strut tower bar. Is that true? Can't you remove it? What's under there?

They're just a plastic covers, remove them by pry it up with a screw driver.

 

yeah, those don't do a damn thing. even aesthetically, i take it off

 

haha...you don't even need to pry them off...just pull on them. They are held in place by some rubber fittings over the exposed bolts.

Where did you ever hear that you shouldn't remove them or you can't use a FSTB...spouse/sig other? Sounds like something my wife would come up with to keep me from modding! hahaha!

 

Guess I better go take off my TRD front STB, since it doesn't know it's not supposed to be there........

 

I've had two STB's installed on my 2001 GS430....damn, I must have gotten a 2000!!! Damn dealership!




They're just covers...they come right off with very little effort...

Thanks for clearing that up...I didnt think that was true.

Anyways, it was posted on an eBay auction....the seller of RVM front upper bars for the GS. For some reason, after I asked him if he was sure about that statement, he ended the auction early w/ no bidders.
