2004 Gs
I work for Lexus of Orlando and we received our first GS300 for 04. No changes at all. We're expecting to see a re-design in the early part of 2004 as a 2005 (according to rumors). There is NO 3.3 liter engine. The same 3.0 Inline six powers the 04 model. Again, no changes.

Why would Lexus waste $$$ to make any changes to the current GS, if a brand new GS will be coming out next year? I dont think anyone expected for them to make any changes.
The Sport Design was a good idea to boost sales, Lexus should of offered it on both the GS300 & 430 though.

And to answer the other question about whether or not dealers tell buyers that a new body style is coming out. Most car buyers are not car enthusiasts like us. We represent a very small minority of the car buying population. They barely know anything about the car they are interested in when they go into the dealer. The internet has helped make it easier for people to get information from independent sources but still many people don't utilize it to it's full advantage. I'm sure you've all watched sales people in action with customers that don't even know what options are available on a car, let alone when the next generation is coming out. But you can usually tell when the new style is coming out if the dealer's start offering steep discounts on the current body style. I noticed that with the Honda Accord at the end of the 2002 model year, right before the redesigned 2003 came out. They don't want to get stuck with inventory of the old body style after the new one comes out because they know most people won't want it and they'll end up losing a lot more money by carrying them over into the next model year. It's just better to discount them to get rid of the inventory.
