shift button swop
has anyone switched their buttons on the steering wheel .. ie down on front left and rear left and up on front and rear right ...

If you don't get an answer, an interesting exercise, yet have to check the wiring harness diagram. As long as all (4) buttons are independent, it's doable.
Yet right now, appears the front does one function, and the rear another. You're asking for the left to do one function, and the right another.
We might be able to reverse the front/rear, yet not sure we can convert that to left/right.
Yet won't know until we check the diagram.

According to people who've installed paddle shift in their cars to replace the E Shift in the steering wheel, the buttons are really just momentary switches that can be replaced or rewired in any configuration that suits you.
I don't know if they're wired, or soldered to a board, but the way they work is pretty straight forward.

Best scenario is that they all lead back to the TCM, and all you'd have to do is re-pin the harness connector.
