Default 2001 Lexus GS430 Transmission question

I'm curious and want to be on the safe side. I bought the car with 126k miles

Maybe I'm overreacting, but my GS430 does something weird. When cruising at a low speed, say 30 mph, my transmission downshifts. RPMs rise at about 2200, until I come to see stop. Sounds like a downshift from 2-1. It only has happened at a low speed.

Car runs smooth and takes off good. Transmission doesn't slip, hesitate or anything.

Am I overreacting?

Mine does that at times. Maybe try a ecu reset?

Unplug the negative terminal from the battery for about 30 mins.

This resets the ecu/tcu.

My Dad got a new Civic in 96. When cruisung at about 80mph i noticed the tach dropping about 1000rpm then raiseing every 3 to 5 seconds.
it was about a year ild. Took the car to the dealer and spoke to the top tech Peter. He said injectots dirty. I said to mysrlf..he dont know nutyin bout cars.

Turns out he was dead on. I cant explain it but it was going in and out of overdrive gear hence the small rpm change. And u could bearly feel the shift.

Additionally, i was hearing a wind whistle tgrough the sunroof. Top tech Peter said windscreen sealing. I thought he really dont know nuttin.

Guess what ? It fixed the whistle and i know lityle about cars.

My suggrstion is clean out the TB and injectors. Cheap and good general mtce. Then see if the problem is still there..
