I've a 2001 GS430, that I just recently replaced a cracked oil filter on. I've seen no problems with the Engine since I bought it last spring. Whenever I go over 60mph for more than 2-4mins the oil light comes on and doesn't turn off until I go 60 or under for at least 5secs any ideas what it might be?

Have you checked your oil fluid level? That oil light comes on when your oil is low.

Not recently but I had changed and replaced the filter and oil right before it had first shown up could be that I didn't put enough in? I used only one of the big containers.

One big container isn't enough. Warm up your car for about 10 minutes, turn the car off and wait 5 minutes then check your oil level. It should be between the low and full mark. Add more if it's below that.

Between 5 1/2 and 5 3/4 quarts. You should be going by what the dipstick reads like mentioned above, rather than just putting in a certain amount and calling it good.

There are two oil lights, Yellow one next to the Check engine light below the Tach is for oil level, red one in the middle below the Speedo is for oil pressure.
Better question is, which one is lighting up?

He has a gs430, if i can remember its about 6.5 quarts.

Freaked the first time this light came on, on a road trip... oil level, not oil pressure. It would only come on during inclines/declines at cruise, as the oil rolled to a portion of the pan, and moved the oil level sensor that mm that triggered the sensor. Very frustrating that the GS4 is 5+ quartrs... first car we've owned, that has this... we've just gotten used to keeping multiple gallon-jugs of oil in the garage, for GS4 oil changes... every single Toyota we've ever owned was <5 quarts.
