Default P0760 and no overdrive!

Good day mates, I have a 98 gs300 recently my over drive has stopped working and I have thrown a p0760 code for transmission solenoid c, anyone had experience with this? I have ordered the solenoid off rock auto, seems simple drop the tranny pan replace #3 solenoid and a way she goes? Anything I'm missing? Thanks

Engine has been replaced but body has 652k that includes tranny it does not slip at all

The best thing is to try that solenoid, however when the torque converter physically wears out, it will throw codes for the shift solenoid as well. If you replace it and it still happens, you'll need to pull the trans and replace the torque converter at the very least. The clutches in the shift packs aren't far behind though and I'd do a complete re-build.

Having same issue on my 01 gs430. Had a p0760 code - transmission solenoid c . Replaced solenoid s3 and i still get the code. Car does not shift into overdrive. Any ideas? Just got done replacing a clogged transmission filter and then started throwing this code!

Common issue when replacing fluid in a transmission that has had too much clutch material wear off. That fluid is what was keeping things able to hold. Now with the clean fluid there's not enough friction. You'll need a trans rebuild or replacement IMO.

fair enough....I want to manual swap it anyways! But it honestly shifts smoothly in the first 4 gears it just slips when in D

So I forgot to mention that this transmission ground is completely missing...

I've heard these transmissions can act up quite a bit if theres any electrical / charging issues going on . I have a new alternator I've been meaning to install , just trying to rule **** out at this point !
