I know it’s probably been asked a million times.. Aristo swap
hi all
i am new to the forum but have been reading for several days trying to do research and figured I would post.
i realize it’s probably been asked a billion times, and you guys are tired of the same threads but any advice is appreciated.
A buddy of mine recently bought a 99 GS300 with the aristo swap and a couple months later the motor blew. We swapped the motor and I was shocked at how easy the swap went together and how the engine/transmission/wiring was a nice compact package that easily just dropped in.
Anyhow, it got me interested in doing a swap of my own and have been looking at cars online.
In my opinion the later years look better in the exterior and most of what I have seen have been taken care of better, probably just due to lower miles and newer. I was considering an 04 with 80k miles
Is there any specific things that make the swap more difficult on the later years (I think 01-04?)? For example, there are electric shifter buttons, does this still work with the Aristo transmission, I assume it’s different wiring and stuff. Does the wiring of the engine swap change much throughout the years? Any excellent threads you suggest spending time reading (keep in mind I’m looking at the newer ones)
Thanks all!
