Default Unlocking door lowers window incorrectly

None of the door locks were working on my GS430. I installed 3 out of the four lock actuators as I ran out of time to finish the last passenger rear door. However, when testing the system by using the key to manually turn right to unlock the driver front door, even the slightest/quickest turn to the right/clockwise activates all windows to quickly move a few inches! In turn, other than the driver door, none of the doors unlock when this happens. A second turn to the right then unlocks all the other working doors, and the windows don't move the . Randomly, the system does work correctly and the doors unlock without the windows coming down. Locking appears to be fine. What gives? Front driver door module? The remote hasn't worked in awhile. I may look into fixing that but for now, trying to understand what could be causing this erratic behavior? I used cheaper Ebay actuators, but not sure how those could be effecting the windows. Any ideas? TIA

When you put the key in the outside door and hold the lock/unlock position after a few seconds, the windows will all go up or down (even the sunroof too if you have it programed that way) which is normal.

It is best to have 4 door lock actuators working properly before you start changing more parts. The actuators have lock/unlock sensors built in them and if they are out of position or not working then it could think a door lock is not in the right position when it should be.

Hi shwalker07,

I do understand the holding position function which moves all the windows and sunroof up. However, in my case, you can't turn the key and let go quick enough and not have the windows come partially down. On top of that, the windows move but the doors remain locked minus the driver door. The second attempt does unlock the other working doors without moving the windows again. And, there are times, everything works correctly! WTH is going on! Any help would be much appreciated. I will install the last actuator, but I am not holding my breath that will solve the issue.

So randomly the car fixed itself. Only thing I can think of was a bad battery that was low after all the testing and repairs. Maybe driving the car more charged it back up. Either that, something was sticking somewhere? Oh well.

Do all your windows roll down when you hold the unlock button on the master key?

Yes, they did. They also rolled up. But, that function was activating just trying to unlock the door. You couldn't move the key fast enough! Healed itself somehow?

Glad to hear it's been working good now.

I think we've already spoke about this. It is activating because the actuator was installed incorrectly.
The key being hard to turn in the lock barrel is the main telltale.
