Default Power steering pulley

I have a 98 gs 400. I have to replace the ps pump, serpentine belt, and ps pulley. There seems to be great confusion between all of the auto parts stores I've called. One place told me $170.... Another place said $30. Is there only one specific part (or part #) that will work?? Sorry if this is confusing, I am brand new to all of this and don't know much about cars in general.

I just started a thread on just the pulley .. [GS mod can merge the threads].

My search took me to LKQ parts and they have the whole assembly for $100. It is used so I am not sure what warranty they would provide.

The pulley new from dealer through internet sales is about $170 and the pump is $$$.

Also GS300 uses a different pump. [That is my understanding]

Unless your pulley is broken [it is brittle so it cant be bent out of shape], may be we can help each other out. PM me if interested.

I have found several pulleys that match the serpentine belt.... They are much cheaper--in the $30-50 range. I'm just not sure if they will work or not. My pulley isn't broken, I guess the teeth are very worn so I will need a new one. Also I can't figure out how to pm you.

Autozone has generic pulley. They specify the shaft dia and the outer dia. My chip is small enough where I can potentially live with the problem till I get the right solution.

PM is private mail, you can hover and click on the message poster's info on the left side of the post and option to PM will pop up.

Right now the best option is the ebay offering by LKQ. [sorry I cant post outside link ... but a simple search will get you there].
