And finally, you can see where the dirt was before the wiper was moved into summer mode.

I did the exact same thing on the way home. I had no idea. Just when you thought you knew everything about your car.

Great suggestion GSQS. I've been doing it for a while, and it does get rid of the occasional rattle.

Does anyone know if the hood clears the wipers when they're in winter mode? I seem to recall someone saying that you needed to be careful when you opened the hood with the wipers in winter mode because it's possible to chip the paint on the back edge of the hood. I could be totally wrong about this, but I thought I would throw it out there just in case.

Never bothered me... I've opened the hood many times with them in winter mode...

It's amazing what can be discovered by reading the owner's manual. I know, I know. Who wants to read that, right?

Only two of the originally posted "hidden features" aren't covered in it.

About the wipers...

When snow season is over, manually return the wipers to the retracted position following the procedure given below.

To shift the windshield wipers from retracted to rest position, hold the connection of the wiper arm and wiper bade and pull it upward along the windshield glass.

To return the windshield wipers to retracted position, push the connection of the wiper arm and wiper blade downward.
And I had no issues with the hood when I tried the different positions.

I don't think anyone should, since the car was designed to be like this...

What position is the switch in? Auto, On, or Off? And if you're not in the US, you might want to read the owners manual to find out what your lights are supposed to do.

No, I'm the other one. It's a CBEST or custom setting. The dealer can change it.
